Nikki + Jerred
There are some sessions that just stick with you forever, and Nikki and Jerred’s engagement shoot is definitely one of those! Having known Nikki from high school and already having the honor of photographing other moments for her, I was thrilled when she asked me to capture their engagement photos. Hearing her vision for the shoot made me even more excited. We were going to weave in personal elements that made them who they are as a couple, which was just perfect. It was honestly a dream come true to photograph their love.
We kicked off the evening at Coronado Beach, and though the skies were a bit gloomy, it honestly made for the most magical vibe. There’s just something about a cloudy beach day that gives portraits a dreamy, ethereal feel. Between the shifting clouds and those rare moments when the sun peeked through, we had the best time wandering the dunes and along the water, capturing all the love these two share. They were total naturals in front of the camera, and their connection was so clear! After soaking up Coronado’s beauty, we made our way over to Silverstrand Beach for some more wide-open space, perfect for snapping some shots with Jerred’s Harley. Don't even get me started on Nikki's outfit with the Harley... Total jaw-dropper!
f you're thinking about bringing props or little things that represent you as a couple, just go for it! It adds such a personal touch and really makes your session unique to you. I absolutely love when couples bring in the things that reflect who they are, both as individuals and together. Seriously, if it’s something that’s meaningful to you, incorporate it!
